Plume, the first public Layer 1 blockchain purpose-built for RWAfi, has partnered with Mysten Labs to accelerate real-world asset tokenization. Plume will utilize Walrus, the decentralized storage protocol originally developed by Mysten Labs, as the default blob storage solution on its blockchain and develop its tokenization technology on Sui’s Move language stack.
Plume will implement Walrus Protocol as the default blob storage solution on Plume’s mainnet blockchain and all applicable applications within its ecosystem and affiliates. Issuers will be able to store and verify asset-backed data in a fully on-chain environment. Projects on Plume will benefit from Walrus’ blob storage solution to securely store asset records, compliance data, and financial metadata. This partnership serves as a key step in accelerating institutional RWA adoption by supporting scalability, compliance, and seamless global distribution.
“By leveraging Walrus’ programmable storage and Plume’s purpose-built RWAfi blockchain, we are enabling a new era of trust, compliance, and scalability in asset management,” said Sam Blackshear, Chief Technology Officer at Mysten Labs. “We’re excited to see not only the seamless interoperability that will extend to Sui from Plume’s commitment to building on the Move language stack but also the innovation and accessibility that will spread across the digital asset ecosystem.”
Plume intends to utilize Sui’s Move language stack as a key component when developing Arc, an open source full stack tokenization engine for RWAs, as well as its cross-chain interoperability solution, SkyLink. Using mirrored YieldTokens while leveraging LayerZero’s SyncPools architecture, SkyLink unites liquidity pools to seamlessly distribute tokenized yields from Plume to any partner chain looking to create permissionless deposit vaults. By preserving total value locked (TVL) on each chain, SkyLink eliminates cross-chain liquidity fragmentation, boosts network value, and expands access to institutional-grade RWA yields across crypto ecosystems. Sui joins a cohort of 18 networks, including Solana, Movement, and Injective.
Chris Yin, CEO & Co-Founder at Plume commented on the news, “Our collaboration with Mysten Labs will unlock new opportunities for cross-chain interoperability, expanding access to tokenized assets and accelerating adoption across both DeFi and traditional finance. We’re ensuring that asset-backed data remains verifiable and accessible on-chain through the integration of Walrus’ decentralized programmable storage with Plume.”
As Plume and Mysten Labs work together to advance real-world asset tokenization, the collaboration aims to drive awareness and adoption among Web3 builders, institutions, and retail users globally.
