Walrus Foundation Launches RFP Program to Support Ecosystem Development
Walrus RFPs are open and ready to push storage forward.

The Walrus Foundation is launching the Walrus Request for Proposals (RFP) program to fund projects that advance and support the Walrus ecosystem. This program is designed to support projects working on solutions that align with the protocol’s mission: unlocking the full potential of decentralized, programmable storage.
Whether a project focuses on building new tooling, exploring integrations, or proposing novel use cases, the Walrus RFP program offers funding and support for proposals that respond to targeted needs that will be set forth in individual RFPs from time to time. Each RFP will be designed to address specific gaps, helping drive focused development across the ecosystem
What we look for
We’re looking for bold ideas that tackle the specific needs outlined in each RFP, backed by teams who can bring them to life. The strongest proposals will combine technical skill, thoughtful design, and a real understanding of how to leverage or improve Walrus for the specific purpose requested. We value creative approaches, well-scoped plans, and builders with a long-term commitment to Walrus.
Specifically, we evaluate based on the following:
- Technical strength and execution: Teams should present realistic milestones, a clear development plan, and evidence of the ability to build and ship.
- Product alignment with creative insight: Submissions should address the RFP’s goals while welcoming thoughtful extensions or unique approaches that meaningfully push beyond the original scope.
- Ecosystem engagement and sustainability: Projects should show potential for continued development, adoption, and collaboration within the broader Walrus and Web3 communities.
- Commitment and resourcing: We seek teams possessing their own momentum—whether through internal resources, outside funding, or a clear path to sustainability. Our support is here to amplify and accelerate impactful work.
Submission and selection process
Applications are now open. Interested teams can view the available RFPs and submit proposals here.
- Application submission: Proposals will be reviewed on a rolling basis starting two weeks after launch. Early submissions are encouraged.
- Evaluation and review: A review committee will assess proposals and may invite shortlisted teams to participate in interviews and technical evaluations.
- Final selection and onboarding: Selected teams will undergo KYC/ KYB compliance checks and finalize agreements before onboarding. Teams not selected will be notified and added to our mailing list for future opportunities.

Building the future of storage together
Walrus is more than just a storage layer—it’s a core building block for the future of Web3. As decentralized, programmable storage becomes essential to the future of Web3, we’re eager to support those pushing the boundaries of what can be done with decentralized storage.
