LINE FRIENDS Coming to Walrus in New, AI-Driven Game

IPX, the company behind LINE FRIENDS, will store digital assets for its new minini universe: ROOM game on Walrus.

The popular LINE FRIENDS characters are coming to Walrus in a new, smaller form, but promise everything they do will be big. IPX, the company behind LINE FRIENDS, created minini universe: ROOM, a multi-chain game based on its minini characters, including NewJeans’ Bunini, Zerobaseone’s Zeroni, and Geshin’s Genshin minini. The new game will rely on Walrus, a decentralized storage platform that allows any application to publish, read, and program any data type onchain, to store character designs, game assets, and AI model files.

minini universe: ROOM is a Web3 entertainment platform that merges real-time AI with onchain evolution. Players receive rewards for their accomplishments and can directly experience how characters transform. Because data and models are onchain and can be updated in real time, players enjoy both immersive gameplay and an emotional connection with the characters.

And beyond providing programmable storage, Walrus’ titular mascot will appear as a character in minini universe: ROOM, demonstrating the potential for a protocol itself to evolve into a character.

LINE FRIENDS minini characters are coming to Walrus in a new, multi-chain game called minini universe: ROOM

LINE FRIENDS boasts 210 million fans around the world through just about any kind of merchandise imaginable. Now its minini characters will take on new life in a Web3 entertainment platform that merges real-time AI with on-chain evolution .

Walrus supports minini universe: ROOM through its global storage node network, offering speed and resilience to ensure a great player experience. In particular, Walrus' programmable storage model means NFTs, game items, and AI models can update based on specific events, such as a player gaining an achievement. Imagine, for example, the advent of cherry blossoms causing the minini characters to put on flowery clothing.

AI models stored on Walrus will let characters and players hold dynamic conversations, going far beyond simple scripted in-game dialogue. Gameplay will also be influenced by AI, allowing for interactive events and community input.

“The integration of minini with Walrus reflects real progress in how interactive onchain experiences are built,” said Rebecca Simmonds, Managing Executive at Walrus Foundation. “Walrus’ programmable storage allows game assets, AI models, and even characters to evolve in real-time, based on player achievements, seasonal events, or community votes. This interactivity opens the door to a new generation of decentralized apps. We’re excited to partner with IPX to help bring that to life.”

“IPX’s mininify concept—making everything small, cute, yet extraordinary—goes beyond mere character transformation," said Logan, Director at IPX. "By integrating Walrus’ onchain infrastructure and AI capabilities into the minini universe, we aim to unveil a new style of Web3 entertainment that fosters deeper communication and resonance with fans.”

minini universe: ROOM ushers in a whole new era of gameplay, leveraging the programmable nature of Walrus and the interactivity of AI. IPX plans to launch the game in the second quarter of 2025.
